が、コンテンツが英語しかない。という巨大な理由のため、まあ今買うこともないだろうと冷静な判断で買わずとどまっていたのだが、飯田くんが夜00:01に電話をかけてきて「キンドルすげぇ。感動と恐怖！　死ぬ」と語る。約一時間、ああだこうだ話す。

スカイプで話そうよ、と言うと、「いやめんどくさい、もうPCは終わったよ」と言う。「テキストを読むのはキンドルでいいし、twitterは iPhoneでいい。PCいらないよ。PCってストレスだったんだ、めんどうでしょPCって、PCおつ、もうそこから解放されよう」
「そんなにすごいんだ？」
「米光予言がキンドルで実現するよ」と飯田くんが断言する。

米光予言というのは、飯田くんに話しているのは第二次米光予言で、大雑把に言うと金と労働と場所がなくなるというもの。大雑把すぎるけれども。

「どれぐらいの衝撃なの？」と聞く。飯田くんは激烈にiPhoneマニア＆愛好者なので、少しイジワルな気持ちで「iPhoneぐらいの衝撃？」と聞く。「それどころじゃない。iPhoneは、そのまえにやっぱり携帯があったりiPodがあったからステップ踏んでる感じだけど、キンドルは４段階ぐらい飛び越してやってきたよ」との返事。「死ぬね。何人も死ぬ、これで」と言う。
